Just wanted to give a quick (boring) update on life for us down here in New Orleans.
Colleen and I continue to do well. We purchased a nice home this past summer and Colleen has been busy working in the yard and getting it to her liking. She loves to work in the yard. Me, I've been busy getting the living room in order with the big screen TV which where I like to be watching football or reading a good book.
Colleen continues to fly all over the country in her job as a flight attendant with American Airlines. Things have finally stabilized with the company and they are hoping that they may be able to get some of their concessions back in the next year or so which they gave up to help keep the company out of bankruptcy.
I am working for ASI Federal Credit Union here in New Orleans as the Business Relations Manger / Indirect Lending Manager. In a nutshell I make sure that our relations with our referral sources stay good and that we bring in new streams of revenue to the credit union. We have specialized in indirect auto financing and are now expanding into the cosmetic and dental fields which are also known "lifestyle" loans.
Colleen is excited as she has Christmas eve off (she hasn't had a Christmas eve off since 2001). It is tradition around here that you go around to the homes of various family members on that evening to enjoy food, drink and company. She will then fly out on Christmas Day for a three day trip. She hasn't had Christmas Day off in the entire time that I have known her. Usually (since she is working both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day I will fly out to the city she is in and spend the day with her. Lately far we have brought in Christmas in the cities of Denver, Tulsa and McAllen, TX.
Oh well, since I am at work right now typing this I should probably actually get back to work.
Hope all is well with everyone and Merry Christmas.

Glad to see your post. I wanted to say that I love the idea of the traditional Christmas Eve house-to-house visits. I had some friends out in Utah who used to do that. It sounds like a lot of fun - hope Colleen doesn't overdo it on the drinks, though, since she has to work the next day. Your flights for Christmas sounds very nice, too. Its that, "If you can't beat them, join them!" kind of thing - and spending time on the road together must always be enjoyable for the two of you.
I'm looking forward to the National Championship game on Jan. 8th. I've heard some really "good" things about Florida - how they are overrated and how even GEORGIA almost beat them. Should be a blow out, but I don't want to jinx my team. The Heisman presentation is this Friday, and it sounds like it should be a no-brainer for Troy Smith. Add to that the talent on the OSU basketball team, and you've got yourself a pretty exciting early 2007 for the state of Ohio (and their fans)!
Roger, I am very glad to hear how you are doing in New Orleans. What airline does Colleen work for? Have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
Colleen flies for American Airlines and except for the paycuts and the mean passengers she loves her job.
As for Christmas Eve, she is usually too busy talking to take the time out to drink too much (she loves to talk...I just stand around and nod a lot).
I can't wait for the 1/8 National Championship when the Buckeyes bring home another National Championship. I was up in Columbus and one of the 50,000 who were tailgating outside the stadium during the game. We watched the game on a big screen TV at Heineygate. After the game I think I hugged more people then I ever had before. We were all so happy for the victory. The few Michigan fans in attendance took the loss with grace and we even ended up buying a round for all the Michigan fans who were drowning their sorrows at Patrick J's after the game.
Go Buckeyes!!!
Roger, If you are ever interested in tickets let me know. I usually can get them for OSU employee cost but this year I couldn't get them due to OSU's rating and everybody that wanted tickets to the games.
